In this study, “An evolutionary approach to eGovt Transformation - Singapore's Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) case study,” IDC Government Insights discussed the global ICT pressures that are forcing rapid business process changes in the Asia/Pacific public sector and reviewed Singapore's ACRA Bizfile system.
“One of the critical key-enablers of successful government transformation today is in egovernment reforms. With the prevalence of next-generation telecommunications infrastructures, web 2.0 technologies, and a new generation of ICT savvy population, governments cannot ignore the inevitable socio-economic benefits of adopting egovernment initiatives,” says Gerald Wang, Market Analyst for IDC Government Insights Asia/Pacific.
He adds, “eGovernment programs are not just about having an online presence and Internet connectivity. It involves an entire restructuring of organizational processes to bring together better resource allocation, business agility and robust accountability. Singapore's ACRA Bizfile system is a prime example of such a reform."
